Day#26
During Fasting: None
After Iftar: None
You only know it’s Ramadan when weekdays and weekends are no different, I’m speaking late night TV shows, family visits, tent gatherings, “Qiyam” prayers… A lot of activities in the night time…However, its a zombie land at sun rise and the majority who fast rely on a lonely brain cell in keeping the eye lids open. Getting errands done in this month is a hero’s task, papers get piled, emails un-answered, and phones on mailbox…They’ll take you on a ride...

The
purpose of Ramadhan was not to be lazy, or relaxed. Allah never meant to give
us an excuse not to be productive, or that he is punishing us with hunger.
Aside from the direct message of feeling compassionate with those who are less
fortunate, we are supposed to reach a polished state of consciousness, self-
discipline, and self-control. It’s true that the only way to integrate the soul
is by facing it with challenges and hardships. It is more of an opportunity,
not an excuse.
The
areas which a person can develop are plenty, and each has its rewards…Some are
spiritual by studying the meanings of Quran verses, or develop a better connection
with Allah by performing late night prayers. Others could be social as in
visiting distant relatives or childhood friends…Some could participate more
into volunteering work and charity for the poor…Some others may seek physical improvements
in terms of fitness and losing weight…The options are unlimited for us to become better individuals in only 30 days. It only a matter of choice…. a
personal decision.
